VOLLEYBALL

Volleyball is a sport in which the object is to ground the ball in your opponent´s court.
It started out as an indoor sport but is frequently played outside.

It was originally called Mintonette by William G. Morgan in Massachusetts in 1895
Rules:
There are 2 teams of 6 players
The object of the game is to prevent the ball from hitting the ground in your court and gaining points by grounding the ball in the opponent´s court.
In order to gain points the ball must be hit, never tossed.
Each team may have 3 attempts to hit the ball over the net
A player may not hit the ball twice in a row.

Serve- the ball is served from the back of the court by the designated server.

Set- a form of passing the ball to a team member. An overhead pass

The underarm pass is another form of passing the ball by bumping off the forearm.

The Spike also known as ¨The Attack¨ is a method of scoring by striking the ball in a downward motion into the opponent´s court.

Here the player positions are shown, number 1 being the serving positon. Once the ball is served the players then rotate clockwise.
